Wow! Just look at the grandeur of the entrance to the Resort Hotel. And, there is Connie looking as pretty as ever right in the middle of the scene. The colors seem a bit lightened. That is probably due to the outdoor lighting or aging of the photo. If you watch the movie closely, the girls never actually stop outside the door. They walk right on in and wait for their parents inside the entrance. So, this must be a deliberate staged publicity shot. A very beautiful scene of the hotel entrance. _______________________________________________________________________
"The Garner Gang", Taking a Breather.
Well, there they are, again...the "Garner Gang". If you read the Articles section,then you understand who this group of Hollywood kids are. Who ever took this photo didn't alert everyone. On the right, you can see Peggy Ann Garner leaning forward just in time for the photo. And, I believe that is Jane Powell in the front-right talking to a boy. Now, the seller of this photo stated that Connie can be seen sitting on the car on the left with her back to the camera. She seems to be wearing a nice summer dress. Her hair is pushed to the front of her shoulders, probably because of the warmth of the Southern California weather. Connie seems to be part of the left group and talking to two girls and three boys. What a shame that no one yelled out "Cheese!" to alert Connie's group. _______________________________________________________________________
Home Sweet Homicide, The Detective on the Trail!
In the upper photo, the detective is following the girls. Of course, the girls are aware of and watching him with their handy espionage tool which every girl has...compac mirror. And, in the lower photo, the detective decides to zero in on April (Connie) for information. Instead, he gets outsmarted by Connie and winds up having to pay for three plates of Chop Suey for the girls. Way to go Connie! Naturally, the detective gets nothing out of Connie. By the way, this is a very nice photo. You can actually see so much detail such as the names of the magazines on the rack and the names of the flavors on the taps up front. _______________________________________________________________________
Wake Up and Dream, Drinking the Salt?
Isn't this a great scene? Connie is watching John Payne as he is captivated by June Haver pouring him a glass of water. He then reaches for the salt shaker and brings it up to his mouth to drink from. Oops!!!! Of course, June Haver witnesses the entire scene to his embarrassment. Connie just looks at him and sighs. Connie sighs again when John sends her away to play something on the juke box. We then learn why Connie always wears her overalls; because John can't afford a nice dress for her. _______________________________________________________________________

Now, this is also a very beautiful portrait of Connie. The dress is black which is considered proper and nicely decorated with very pretty but simple lace. The photo shows the scene in which Connie wears the dress. _______________________________________________________________________
Mother Wore Tights, "You're Ashamed!"
This scene is a turning point in the movie. Mikie (Connie) discovers that her sister is ashamed of their parents because they are Vaudville performers. Mikie scolds her sister and then informs their parents. Connie gives a great performance in this scene. _______________________________________________________________________
Sentimental Journey, "Home Sweet Home"
This is a scene near the end of the movie after Bill saves Hitty at the beach, brings her back home and puts her to bed. While in bed, Bill gives Hitty 'No Name', her toy horse. _______________________________________________________________________

Mother Wore Tights, Before and After
Here are photos of two similar scenes, but very different moments. In the first photo, Mikie's family sings a song to liven things up. What song did they sing? That is testable in my quiz. Unfortunately, the sudden change in mood and excitement was just too much for the hotel guests to react and join in. In the second photo, all the hotel guests have come around and are now joining in on the singing, and later, dancing. And, there is Connie in the middle of the scene singing her heart out. By the way, in this scene, Connie is surrounded by so many famous character actors of that time. Any movie buff of that period can recognize and identify them. Perhaps you can too!
