Pam Marshall

Pam Marshall, (older sister of Connie) received Honorable Mention for costume designing this week in a nation-wide contest, staged by Scholastic Magazine.

Pam is very proud of it, as there were over 2000 other entries.

Pam’s design can be seen in Carnegie Institute, located in Pittsburgh.

Wow!  Talent was unmistakably an attribute of the Marshall family.  And, it was not restricted to Connie Marshall but was ever-present in her ancestors, relatives and, yes, even her older sister, Pam.

I am a volunteer Science and Engineering Judge and have judged at the High School, Regional, and State levels.  I can confidently state that to receive an Honorable Mention in any discipline at the National level is a great achievement.  And, to be displayed at the Carnegie Institute is no small feat.  A copy or sketch of Pam’s design for all to see would have served as icing on the cake for this article.

However, as I read this small article, I also realized Connie’s love and loyalty to her sister as an example of her strong family values.  Even as Connie was blossoming as a “Star” in filmdom, she still took the time to unselfishly write a small article about her sister’s achievement.  That’s right!  Connie made time to shift the spot-light from herself to her sister, Pam.  What a heart.  So, although it is a very short article, it is succinct and tells more about Connie and her sister, Pam, when one takes the time to carefully read the lines.

Congratulations, Pam.  And, thank you Connie for informing us of your talented sister.
